Miami Neuroscience Institute has expertise in every type of neurosurgery, all available under one roof. From traditional spine surgery to the latest radiosurgery techniques, our skilled team of neurosurgeons provides comprehensive and personalized treatment.

Although neurosurgery can be an effective treatment option for many different neurological conditions, our specialists understand the risks involved with these procedures. That’s why we explore every form of treatment for your condition — not just surgery — to find the right plan for you. What type of neurosurgery is offered at Miami Neuroscience Institute?

Miami Neuroscience Institute has a team of neurosurgeons who each specialize in a specific area of neurosurgery, which means they receive additional training in these areas beyond their general neurosurgery training.

Our neurosurgeons also use interoperative MRIs and CT scans to track brain and spine status during neurosurgery. Frequently Asked Questions

  • The amount of time you spend in the hospital will depend on your diagnosis and the type of surgery you have. For some functional neurosurgery procedures, such as high-intensity focused ultrasound, you may be able to go home the same day as the procedure. For some other operations, such as a craniotomy, you may need to stay in the hospital for two days, or as many as seven to 10 days.

  • Our team always takes a conservative approach to neurosurgery, which means using less-invasive methods whenever possible. If incisions are required for your procedure, we will do everything possible to avoid making the incisions on your face and make them behind the hairline instead.
